Group members short CVs

High Energy Physics Group in the VINČA Institute of Nuclear Sciences

Ivan Smiljanić, Research Associate

Made his PhD on integrated luminosity measurement at ILC, in the framework of the FP7 AIDA project. On-call expert for the vertex detector at the H1 experiment at DESY, Germany. Involved in detector R&D for instrumentation of the very forward region at ILC and CEPC. Various aspects of his activity include: integrated luminosity measurement, systematic uncertainties in luminosity measurement, beam-spread determination, prototyping and testing of the very forward calorimeters which qualifies him to coordinate IDEAS HIGHTONE-P WP2 on detector R&D for future Higgs factories.

Gordana Milutinović Dumbelović, Research Associate

Graduated physics at the University of Kragujevac as the first in her class. Within the VINCA HEP group, made PhD in 2017 at the CLIC experiment at CERN (CERN-THESIS-2017-349), in the field of Higgs physics. Was in charge for several Higgs measurements in the Higgs to mu mu and ZZ decays at 1.4 TeV center-of-mass energy. From 2017, half-a-time works in the private IT sector as a Business Intelligence Project Leader, leading business intelligence projects in logistics using novel data driven technologies. Due to that particular experience she is assigned as a WP3 leader of the IDEAS HIGHTONE-P project, on software innovation for intelligent logistics based on machine learning.

Goran Kačarević, PhD in physics

Tohoku University Research-Oriented Incoming Student (ROIS) Scholarship in Japan in 2018. Completed his PhD thesis in the Higgs to two photon decay at 3 TeV CLIC under mentorship of Ivanka Bozovic Jelisavcic. The doctoral thesis has been accepted for defense at the University of Kragujevac, and the corresponding Report of the Committee for Evaluation of the doctoral dissertation has been approved. Involved both in Higgs physics with several analysis on the Higgs BRs and detector R&D for future Higgs factories. In-house expert for machine learning.

Nataša Vukašinović, Research Assistant

Nataša was a top-class undergraduate student (Award ‘Dragoslav Srejović’, Scholarship by the Fund for Young Talents of the Ministry of Youth and Sport, and many more). In 2018, together with Goran Kačarević, she got the ROIS Scholarship in Japan. At the VINCA HEP group she completed a PhD related analysis of the Higgs BR measurement in ZZ decays at 350 GeV and 3 TeV CLIC supervised by Ivanka Božović Jelisavčić. Completed in addition the CP violation study in the Higgs sector at 1 TeV ILC.  This is the first CPV precision estimate in VBF at a future electron-positron Higgs factory. Currently writing a doctoral dissertation to be defended at the University of Novi Sad in 2024. Task leader in IDEAS HIGHTONE-P WP1 on the Higgs sector studies.

Ivana Vidakovic, PhD student

Made her Master thesis at the University of Kragujevac with the topic ‘Application of multivariate analysis in the Higgs boson separation as a signal at 3 TeV CLIC’. Currently on the doctoral studies of physics at the same university. Joined the VINCA HEP group two years ago with the prospect to take over a PhD topic on CPV in Higgs to tau tau decays at CEPC.
